Which warehouse system fits storage and transport?

If you store pallets, rolls or cartons for other companies, you need a WMS that works per pallet and per client, not per webshop order. For a small storage company, also if you drive yourself, that is Laadruim, for example; if you need full route planning, TALIS or Babeldat; and for webshops Picqer, SlimPick or Stockhub. Below, per kind of company, with the public price, the date and the source.

This comparison is made by Laadruim, one of the suppliers itself. That is why every price has its source and the day we checked it: you can check it all yourself.

Which system fits which company?

Is this you? What often fits
A webshop or fulfilment company that ships parcels What often fits Picqer, SlimPick or Stockhub

Built for webshop orders: priced by the number of orders, with links to webshops and parcel carriers.

A large warehouse with its own IT department What often fits Boltrics or Astro WMS

For mid-sized and large logistics companies, with many modules and connections. Price on request.

A transport company that needs full route planning What often fits TALIS by TANS, Babeldat or TransportMaster

Warehouse and transport from one supplier, with planning.

A small storage company with pallets, rolls and cartons for others, also if you drive yourself What often fits Laadruim This is us

Stock per pallet and per client, in the browser, for 1 to 10 people in the office. Laadruim has no route planning yet.

What Laadruim has and has not yet

You store for one or two clients, little goes in and out, and one person keeps track of it all What often fits Excel and paper

That can work fine. It gets hard when that person is on holiday, when clients are added, or when a client wants a stock list or a connection every day.

What does a WMS cost per month?

For webshops and fulfilment most prices are on the suppliers' own sites: from €149 to €5,500 a month, by number of orders. For storage for others and transport, three of the systems here give a price, from €25 (Nexportal, for one client) to €615 (Babeldat, warehouse and transport together) a month; the rest works on request.

Public prices per month, checked on 1 November 2026. Amounts excluding VAT, unless stated otherwise.

What is the difference between a WMS for webshops and a WMS for third-party storage?

A WMS for webshops is about orders: picking, packing and a shipping label, and the price is usually per order. Third-party storage is about pallets, rolls and cartons of different clients: what is whose, where it is, and what went out. Then you want stock per client and per pallet, and reports per client.

Which WMS fits a small warehouse that stores pallets for other companies?

A WMS that works per pallet and per client, in the browser, without an IT department of your own. That is what Laadruim is built for.

Laadruim has today

  • Reading in your stock spreadsheet at the start
  • Sign-in with a passkey, rights per level and a log of every action

Not yet

  • Scanning in the warehouse
  • Pallet labels with a barcode (SSCC)

  • Temperature, bulk in kilos or a customs warehouse
  • Your own trading stock rather than that of others

What should you ask a supplier before you choose?

With the same questions to every supplier, the answers become comparable. Ask them of us too.

  1. Do you keep stock apart per client, and can my client see what is there?
  2. Do you work with pallets, rolls and loose cartons?
  3. Can you work out storage costs per pallet per day or per month?
  4. Can you connect with my client's system? Who builds that, and what does it cost?
  5. Do I have to scan, or can it be done without?
  6. What does it cost per month, with and without VAT, and what does that depend on: orders, users or clients?
  7. What does it cost one-off, and how long until we work with it?
  8. What is the notice period, and do I get all my data when I stop?

Which WMS fits a transport company with its own warehouse?

That depends on what your main work is. If your company runs on trips and planning, with the warehouse alongside, a package for warehouse and transport together fits, such as TALIS by TANS or Babeldat. If storage for clients is the main work and you plan the trips yourself, a WMS for third-party storage fits, such as Laadruim. Laadruim has no route planning yet.

Do I need a WMS and a TMS, or one system?

A WMS (warehouse management system) keeps track of what is in your warehouse; a TMS (transport management system) plans the trips. Both from one supplier is possible with Babeldat, TANS, TransportMaster and Boltrics, among others. Laadruim is a WMS; it has no route planning yet.

How do I move from Excel and packing slips to a WMS, and how long does it take?

After the introduction we set up your clients together and you read in your stock spreadsheet: Laadruim reads Excel, CSV and ODS, creates new articles, first shows what it will read in and then counts again whether everything is there. Then we show your people how it works. How long that takes on average, we will put here once we have measured it at companies that work with Laadruim.

Which WMS can connect to my clients' systems (API or EDI)?

Laadruim connects with your client's system, through an API or EDI: their orders come in by themselves, and Laadruim checks them. We build that connection; you need no IT department for it, and the cost is in your proposal. Other systems connect too: ask who builds the connection and what it costs.

Can I take my data with me if I switch later?

In Laadruim you download your stock and your reports as Excel at any moment, free of charge. Ask every supplier before you sign: what can you take, in which format, and what does it cost?

Is there a WMS you can cancel monthly?

Yes. Picqer, SlimPick and Nexportal Stock Tracker can be cancelled monthly, according to their own site. For most systems for third-party storage and transport the term is not on the site: ask before you sign.
